The two most awaited slates are iPad 3 and Galaxy Tab 11.6. While everyday some or other website is announcing and guessing their features through leaked information, we are here to tell you all the things you need to know about slates. Here is a detailed report made by all the leaked information available for iPad and Galaxy Tab 11.6.

The Form:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 is suggested to have almost same screen size as 10.1, in other words, there will not be much difference.

The difference in size must be made by allotting smaller bezel space outside and cover the whole screen with display and not just blank space. Rumors also say that the looks of this tablet is remarkably great.

Let us talk about Apple’s iPad. There are chances that it will be 1mm thicker than the iPad2 and would look quite same to iPad 2. The name can be iPad 2S instead of iPad3. In fact a Chinese company has already started making cases named iPad 2S. From the rumors we hear, the visual changes are minimal.

The Display:

The giant 11.6 inch display of Samsung’s Tablet will offer a majestic 2560 x 1536 pixels with a resolution ratio of 16:10. While it is not clear whether it will wear an AMOLED display will be or not. We are still expecting an awesome picture and display quality from Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6.

Apple’s iPad 3 might have a beautiful Retina Display Technology. If these tablets get Retina Display, nothing can stop iPad 3 an instant hit for its crisp, clear and wonderful display. This will shoot the resolution doubling it to 2048 x 1536 pixels for a 9.7-inch screen of IPS + LCD glass.

Not only we, everyone must agree to decide that Retina Display makes iPad 3 a winner in display category.

Processor:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 will have a 2GHZ dual core ARM Cortex-A15 processor and to top on that it will also have next-gen Exynos 5250 chipset. The graphic processing Unit (GPU) will be ARM’s latest Mali-T604.

iPad 3 is expected to use next-generation ARM hardware and A6 chipset. It also offers quad-core processor but use of Cortex-A9 or A15 is not yet clear.

Storage:

The storage of Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 may increase to 2 or 2.5 GB, as 1 GB RAM offering is no big deal for Samsung. But there must be versions of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB for both iPad 3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6.

Apple may increase its 512 MB to 1GB but expecting more than that won’t work for Apple. In Storage, Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 makes a win.

Operating System:

Here we are dealing with Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6’s IceCream Sandwich i.e Android 4.0 and Apple iPad 3’s iOS 5! We are expecting Apple’s iPad 3 to introduce new operating system iOS 5 which is said to have better Siri software for non US residents and Facebook integration is also possible. One very interesting rumor is about the 3D iOS, we would be glad to see iPad 3 with a 3D iOS.

And Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 IceCream Sandwich is expected to be similar to Honeycomb which is interestingly cute. The interface will be more modern and specially the camera. Better viewfinder in camera is also expected. The multitasking feature is more clearly and easily accessible now. Our verdict is Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6, but only if iOS 3D is not introduced.

Camera:

Apple’s iPad can have an 8 Megapixel Camera with a front facing HD Camera. The best part is a good HD camera for video calling is an excellent idea. It might also have an LED flash and various new features like smile detection, better view finder.

While we are not sure about the camera of Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6, but can expect it to have at least 8 or more megapixel camera. Our verdict is Apple’s iPad 3 makes a win here.

We are not sure if Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 will be able to break the Apple’s monopoly. History says iPad is much ahead than that of Samsung. But the question is, will Samsung beat iPad 3 this time. One thing is for sure there is nothing else which could give iPad3 a better competition.
