Samsung Galaxy Tab series of tablets has finally gotten the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be the first to receive the ICS update followed by other models in the Galaxy Tab series. The firmware update which is 237.4 MB is now available in the UK.
Similar ICS updates are also available for Samsung Galaxy 7, 7.7 as well as 8.9 devices shortly. As we understand, it is only available for UK devices only with other countries receiving the firmware updates shortly.
The new Android Ice Cream Sandwich offers many new features such as voice input, new camera capabilities as well as a better GUI. It also can improve the battery performance of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well as processing speed to handle general tasks.
As for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it is still unknown at this point when or whether Samsung will roll out to its device. We presumed they are still testing the jelly bean firmware update.
