Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 vs. Galaxy Tab 2 10.1: The raging battle

With the announcement of 10.1-inch version of Samsung’s most popular 5.3-inch tablet-phone at the MWC in Barcelona, tech lovers are expecting a clash between the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the upgrade of 8 months old Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. This announcement certainly stunned everyone, as this means there’s going to be two Android tablets of same size in the market in a couple of months from the same company.

As far as the structure and the design features are concerned, both tablets feature 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen and that too, with same resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and 149 ppi. In fact, both tablets will have almost similar dimensions, and even the weight of the two varies only by a few grams. In the design section, the difference lies in the user interface of the two. The Tab 2 10.1 features Corning Gorilla Glass Protection and TouchWiz UX user interface, while the Note 10.1 is going to have S-pen digitizer.

The Note 10.1 is expected to feature a 1.4GHz processor, while a 1GHz Cortex-A9 processor is expected to be included in Tab 2 10.1. Both tablets have a common 1GB RAM and an Android 4.0 ICS platform, that’s for sure. The major difference lies with the storage capacity. As the Note 10.1 is expected to come with 16GB, 32GB & 64GB storage options, while the Tab 2 10.1 will only have the 64GB storage option.

While the primary (rear) camera of both the tablets are going to be the same (8MP with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution), the difference lies in the secondary (read front) camera. While the Tab 2 10.1 will have a VGA front camera, the Note 10.1 will tout a 2MP camera.

On an overview of both, it must be clear by now that the company has made the Tab 2 10.1 a bit inferior to the Note 10.1. That makes it clear that the Note 10.1’s price will outdo the Tab 2 10.1’s price tag. As per analysis & speculations, the Tab 2 10.1 will get the preferences by the customers.
