The Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich update will soon be coming to two Samsung handsets namely the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Samsung Galaxy Note before this first quarter of 2012 ends, this was announced on the Norway regional Facebook page of Samsung.

After this announcement it seems as if Norway would be one of the first countries where this new Ice Cream Sandwich update will be rolled out for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S II and the tablet/smartphone hybrid Galaxy Note devices.

Other countries where people are hoping for this update to come soon will probably not have to wait much longer as if it would be coming to Norway in the end of the first quarter of 2012 then the update for the rest of the world would not be far behind, but before rolling out the update in other countries Samsung will have to wait upon results of testing being done by both itself and the cell service carriers to ensure that the update would occur smoothly and without any hitch.

In the US, 3 of the four major carriers namely, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, are offering many variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II. AT&T alone is offering some 3 variants of the smartphone including Galaxy S II, the Galaxy S II Skyrocket LTE and the newly introduced Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Note will be offered by AT&T in February.
