Samsung Electronics, Korea’s answer to USA’s Apple, has confirmed that its new 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 is scheduled for a worldwide launch in March, and will arrive in South Africa electronics markets in Q2 2012.
The device shall run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and shall be available in 21Mbps HSPA+3G and Wi-Fi versions. It shall also be equipped with the updated suite of Google’s embedded applications in addition to the Samsung Music Hub, Readers Hub, and Game Hub, and the newly launched Video Hub.
The Galaxy Tab 2 shall sport the upgraded version of Samsung’s Touchwiz UI and shall feature:
- Direct access to users’ content in Hubs through Hub widgets
- A new service called S Suggest providing users with recommendations of apps suited to their interests directly on a home screen
Samsung also claims that the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 shall include voice call capability which shall be easy to use, like a real phone
